I leave the lettuce in the bowl in the fridge until ready to use and the metal helps keeps salad cool for serving
I have had salad spinners for years. Last one gave out and I order this steel one. I leave the lettuce in the bowl in the fridge until ready to use and the metal helps keeps salad cool for serving.

Nice piece.
The bowl can double as a mixing bowl. Works well. The inner basket is a little flimsy, but it works okay. Very easy to use. Works efficiently.

Quality Spinner Results in Fresh, Crisp Salads.
Have this as Christmas gift to my wife. She raves about it. Salads just seem more crisp and fresh. Also, she stores lettuce from previous evening in the metal bowl in the refrigerator, and it is chilled and wonderful the next night. Functionally it is solid and operates smoothly.

Very happy, works as advertised so far
Very happy, works as advertised so far. Love the stainless bowl and spinner works better than others I've used in the past. We use often and have been happy with this one!

It works great, and I have used it as a serving ...
My husband opted to go with the metal bowl. It works great, and I have used it as a serving bowl as well. This spinner is like a well-oiled machine! A breeze to use and easy clean-up.

Quality Salad Spinner
Though not cheap, this has been the best spinner I have purchased! Other plastic ones have fallen apart, but not this stainless container. Yes, you have to make sure that the plastic basket is centered on the metal point, but it is no big deal to do. Amazing to see how much water is removed even after draining in my big sink strainer first! The photo shows a bag of 3 Romain heads, 5 oz bag of Spring Greens Mix and 1/4 package of arugula. It all fits into the metal bowl which I store with saran wrap or plate to use during the week. I cannot use the lid since it is overfilled, but again, not an issue. Thank you OXO! Purchased this November 2017 and use it all the time!

Like Magic: Keeps Red-Leaf Crisp for Five Days
I switched from the massive $5 tub of lettuce/week to regular heads of lettuce because the tub would go bad before I could finish it. Now, I only spend $2/week on a head of lettuce and it lasts the whole week, fresh as can be. Caveats: 1. Wash and spin your head of lettuce immediately after getting back from the store. If you don't, the head of lettuce will go limp by the next day in the fridge. 2. It only fits a moderate-sized head of red-leaf. And that just barely.

Lovin' The Steel Bowl!
I needed a new salad spinner because as with the first one I owned, the bowl cracked on the bottom after years of use. So, when I saw that the OXO Salad Spinner also offers a steel bowl I ordered. The steel bowl looks to be about 3/4" less deep that the plastic model, although the steel bowl is a bit rounder. I like the clear top. The inside colander is not as sturdy as the one I have replaced, although don't know if that is an issue since the bowl takes the pressure during the pumping. I spin all cleaned vegetables in the OXO salad spinner. It is such a handy item which is used daily in our home. I also purchased one for a wedding shower gift to encourage our grandson and his new bride to eat their veggies!

Ummm...
The lid is not very easy to clean.. I wonder if I clean it correctly at all.... This is a decent purchase but is heavy and bulky. I wanted something I would never have to throw in the garbage and to save on needless plastic waste. How about I update this in fifteen years and see if I still have it and able to use it! The lid and inner liner are plastic but overall- its a fantastic product even though I hated spending SO much money on a salad spinner. Wish me luck! :)

Totally washable!
Absolutely love this salad spinner. This is replacing a cheaply made one that wasn’t totally washable. This one comes apart so you can wash the lid thoroughly. I use it a couple of times every week. Very sturdy.
